PwC emphasises the need for goverments to look at a digital future at WGS

PwC Middle East, announced the Global Ministers Survey at World Governments Summit, in Dubai.

At the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2024 PwC Middle East announced the new initiative the Global Ministers Survey. At a press conference at WGS, the consultancy firm emphasised the need for governments across the globe to evolve towards a more digital and sustainable future.

Built from a survey that represented over 50 government global ministers, the report focussed on the challenges and opportunities in maximising public value and impact. There also were discussions on the role of GenAI and technological advancements in the public sector, and the role of citizen-centric solutions.

The Global Ministers Survey by PwC acts as a compass for understanding the landscape of global governance. The Deputy Managing Director of WGS Organisation, Mohamed Yousef AlSharhan, focussed on the survey’s significance in shaping discussions and fostering collaborations with global leaders.

The first paper presented “Future of Crime” focussed on technology’s role in preventing crime. It focussed on technology working towards building a safer society. It also emphasised on the need for data security, tech trends, infrastructure, talent and other research investment. The other paper was focussed on “Advances in Healthcare”, which highlighted the potential of gene therapy and regenerative medicine.

The team also unveiled another paper – “Family Business Succession Planning,” this focussed on the importance of supporting family businesses in the Middle East to push towards profitable growth across generations. The region is already working on supporting family businesses, and a focus on the non-oil sectors, that fosters growth of tourism, finance, and technology.
