Saudi Arabia launches MENA’s first Gen AI accelerator

The new programme marks the world’s first generative artificial intelligence (AI) early-stage accelerator

The Suudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and the National Technology Development Program (NTDP) have joined forces with New Native Inc. to launch GAIA, a new AI-focused initiative in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The new programme marks the world’s first generative artificial intelligence (AI) early-stage accelerator.

Taking place over a 10-week period at Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in Riyadh, the GAIA accelerator programme aims to elevate the Kingdom’s scientific standing and pioneering role in AI. Its primary focus lies in supporting the entrepreneurship sector and technology startups by providing coaching sessions and comprehensive training on how to transform innovative ideas into thriving AI-driven businesses.

With an ambitious vision, the GAIA accelerator programme endeavours to highlight the Kingdom’s leading role in the field of AI. Over the course of 36 months, the programme sets its sights on creating 300 new AI companies. Beyond that, it seeks to foster a vibrant community of both local and international AI startups, encouraging the exchange of expertise and promoting collaboration among these forward-thinking enterprises.
