Startup edge/: How AIREV made the journey from education to global innovation

Here is how AIREV is reshaping industries with innovative AI solutions. From humble beginnings with School Hack to global impact, delve into AIREV’s journey of empowerment and innovation.

Muhammad Khalid, Co-founder and CEO AIREV

Muhammad Khalid, Dr. Youssef Youssef, and Kayaan Unwalla believe that AI holds the key to unlocking new possibilities and driving unprecedented progress in our world. This belief led to the genesis of AIREV.

The company’s mission is to develop innovative AI products that automate and streamline daily tasks and make AI accessible to individuals and businesses of all sizes.

“By freeing up human time and energy, AIREV empowers people to focus on what truly matters, whether pursuing their passions or driving innovation in their respective fields,” explains Khalid, AIREV’s Founder and CEO.

The story of AIREV is a testament to the success of its predecessor, School Hack. Initially, School Hack was a leading AI application for students, revolutionising their approach to learning.

Over time, it transformed into an AI-powered educational social network, amassing over 2.5 million users and responding to more than 68 million queries. As a certified partner with industry giants like Microsoft, Nvidia, and AWS, School Hack demonstrated its prowess in the education sector, paving the way for the birth of AIREV.

As the founders, alongside their team, scaled School Hack to unprecedented heights, they realised the broader potential of their AI expertise. This realisation led to the birth of AIREV, with a mission to innovate across various sectors and contribute meaningfully to AI research.

“Our inaugural product under AIREV, dubbed “On Demand,” epitomises our vision. It is a decentralised platform designed to streamline the building and deployment of artificial intelligence products, making what once took months or even years achievable in days,” said Khalid.

The team believes On Demand will democratise AI development, enabling companies of all sizes to forge advanced tools for the betterment of humanity.

“This platform is synergised with our partnership with Core42 and leverages Compass Core42’s Compass—a comprehensive cloud-based suite of AI tools, APIs, and customisable models that enhance our offerings,” added Khalid

An illustrative example of what On Demand facilitates is BioHack, a multimodal tool still in development. BioHack is designed to assist medical professionals by enabling the recognition of pathology in medical imagery, such as X-rays and CT scans.

In addition, the RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) operating system that On Demand has developed is a key element in improving the platform’s operation.

RAG makes multimodal interactions possible, so people may easily interact with AI-driven solutions in text, image, and video formats. This feature improves user experience and broadens the range of uses for AI technology, opening up fresh avenues for creativity and problem-solving in various industries.

On Demand’s decentralised design, smart alliances, and cutting-edge technologies like RAG let users fully utilise AI to create and implement creative solutions.

However, building AI products has its challenges.  AIREV’s journey from School Hack to a leading innovator in artificial intelligence has been marked by numerous challenges, each presenting unique growth opportunities.

Managing a diverse team amidst rapid evolution requires effective communication and collaboration strategies while scaling services to meet escalating user demand, which demands infrastructure upgrades and performance optimisation.

Concurrently, developing innovative technologies like the RAG operating system posed technical hurdles, such as integrating diverse data types and ensuring compatibility with existing frameworks.

AIREV quickly recognised the need to expand its scope beyond education and into broader sectors.

By paying attention to its customers’ requirements and preferences, AIREV has improved its products and ensured they continue impacting a constantly shifting market. One of the important lessons the team learnt was the importance of scalability.

“The necessity for AIREV to scale its infrastructure became evident as the company’s user base and product demand increased. Additionally, it has become clear that AIREV’s products’ success greatly depends on the user experience. This emphasis on user-centric design has enhanced the usefulness of AIREV’s products, increasing user loyalty and deeper engagement,” added Khalid.

AIREV’s growth strategy revolves around leveraging cutting-edge AI models like GPT-4 and forging strategic partnerships with industry leaders like Core42. By investing in research and development and embracing innovation, AIREV ensures continuous growth and evolution in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

What sets AIREV apart from competitors is its unwavering commitment to democratising AI development and driving positive change across industries.

“By making AI accessible to businesses of all sizes and sectors, AIREV promotes inclusivity and fosters innovation on a global scale. Moreover, AIREV’s focus on scalability and user-centric design ensures that its products meet the evolving needs of its customers, driving deeper engagement and loyalty,” explained Khalid.

Looking ahead, AIREV’s mission is clear: to advance and democratise decentralised AI globally. By ensuring the accessibility of AI technologies worldwide, AIREV aims to foster innovation, efficiency, and growth across sectors.

Whether developing new AI products or forging strategic partnerships, AIREV is committed to shaping a future where AI enhances human lives in unprecedented ways.
