The primary focus of the meeting was to explore opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of best practices between DEWA and Microsoft

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the Managing Director and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), warmly received a delegation from Microsoft, led by Ralph Haupter, the President of Microsoft Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Marwan Bin Haidar, the Executive Vice President of Innovation and the Future at DEWA, and Mohammad bin Sulaiman, the CEO of Moro (Data Hub Integrated Solutions), were also in attendance.

The primary focus of the meeting was to explore opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of best practices between DEWA and Microsoft, particularly in the realms of innovation and sustainability. This aligns with the shared vision of both organisations regarding the importance of advancing innovation and leveraging technologies from the Fourth Industrial Revolution, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing, to bolster sustainability and drive digital transformation.

Discussions also centred on reinforcing the strategic partnership by DEWA’s commitment to integrating the latest technologies into its operations and vision of becoming a globally leading sustainable and innovative corporation committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050.

During the meeting, Al Tayer highlighted DEWA’s key innovative projects, emphasising the disruptive impact of Digital DEWA, the organisation’s digital arm, on public utilities. This initiative is instrumental in shaping a new digital future for Dubai, built on four pillars: the introduction of advanced solar power technologies, the implementation of a renewable energy grid with innovative energy storage technologies, the expansion of integrated AI solutions, and the provision of digital services to support smart, sustainable cities while ensuring cybersecurity and continuity in the digital space.
