Chinese manufacturer Umeox, a virtually unknown name, has shared images of its latest handset, called the X5.

Huawei previously boasted the thinnest smartphone with the 6.2mm Ascend P6.

If the images and information are genuine the X5 would measure just 5.6mm at its thickest point.

The device is said to run Android Jelly Bean.
