Avaya to highlight how cloud innovation can boost business resilience at GITEX 2022

Avaya to showcase how ‘innovation without disruption’ can help organisations deliver seamless customer and employee experiences

Global communications and collaboration solutions company will showcase its latest solutions aimed at simplifying and accelerating innovation and efficiencies for customers at GITEX Global 2022.

The event will see the company demonstrate how organisations can harness cloud innovation to improve business resilience. We caught up with Nidal Abou-Ltaif, President, Avaya International, to know more about what visitors can expect from the company at GITEX.

What is Avaya showcasing at GITEX Global this year?

In terms of what we’ll be showing, we’ll be highlighting solutions that address some of our customers’ biggest challenges.

The way we’re looking at GITEX is this: To compete in the experience economy, businesses need innovation over the top of their existing infrastructures — typically on the cloud. But they’re also looking to avoid disruption to their core operations in a time of economic uncertainty. So, at GITEX, we’ll showcase how we’re uniquely placed to serve that need.

On our stand, visitors can experience what we’re calling “innovation without disruption”. We’ll be showing use cases that demonstrate how the Avaya OneCloud platform can help organisations deliver seamless customer and employee experiences without the need for large-scale technology refreshes that disrupt their existing operations.

What’s unique about Avaya’s participation this year?

It’s a cliché to say it, but every year our participation at GITEX is bigger and better than the last, and that’s what we’re aiming for this year.

In practical terms, there’s a different feel this year. Because of the pandemic over the past two years, we created a hybrid experience around GITEX in 2020 and 2021, broadcasting live shows from our stand to our customers across the globe. Effectively, we brought GITEX to 100 cities around the world.

This year, we’re pleased to see that in-person events are truly back, and so we’ll be focusing on delivering the best in-person experience possible on our stand.

As usual, you’ll also see us throwing our weight behind big technology trends that the UAE is placing itself at the heart of. For example, when it comes to the metaverse, the UAE has ambitions to become one of the top ten metaverse economies, and we’ll show something special that can help organisations within the country tap into the potential of the metaverse.

What does the ‘next digital universe’ mean to you?

It’s difficult to think about ‘the next digital universe’ without images of the metaverse coming to mind. And for sure these trends are picking up steam, thanks in no small part to the fact that governments like the UAE’s are taking them so seriously.

To Avaya, we see this new realm as a ‘YOUniverse’ – which refers to how modern technology has enabled each of us to craft our own universe. And we’re all already living in this hyper-personalised land, with social feeds, meal delivery platforms, banking products and more, all completely in tune with our unique needs. That we can now extend our presence to a virtual world within a metaverse is simply an extension of that.

Everything you need to know about GITEX Global 2022

What role can you play in making the ‘next digital universe’ a success?

With all of us self-segmenting across all of the products and services we use, and creating our very own digital universes, Avaya’s position is that organisations need the capabilities to address use cases that are extremely granular.

No-one is really there yet, but when we think about the ‘next digital universe’, that’s what we at Avaya are aiming for – the ability to create unique, effortless experiences for any persona, at any moment.

We’re supporting organisations by giving them the ability to address very granular use cases with a platform approach. The Avaya OneCloud platform delivers the experiences that today’s employees and customers expect – and it enables businesses to roll out advanced features with minimum disruption.
