This year, networking and telecommunications company, Ericsson is returning to GITEX Global under the ‘Imagine Possible’ tagline.

In line with the company’s core business to create connections that make the unimaginable possible, helping to shape an exciting and positive future, Ericsson’s participation is set up to ‘imagine’ experiential learning for all as the organisation push the boundaries of extended reality and bring immersive entertainment experiences.

“Our interactive demonstrations welcome both consumers and enterprises to highlight how our 5G technology portfolio is building communication networks for the future. You will also discover how we redefine business with real-time collaboration in the mirror world, and how connectivity is opening up new possibilities to pioneer a sustainable future,” says Nicolas Blixell, Vice President and Head of Ericsson GCC.

“Moreover, we are launching an unprecedented industry report shedding light on some of the most exciting projections in the Middle East region,” says Blixell.

A 5G-powered digital future

Currently, there are 29 billion connected devices globally with close to two-thirds currently part of this IoT ecosystem. According to Ericsson, the ‘next digital universe’ is one where 5G powers a myriad of IoT ecosystems.

“We have a vision where future networks are a fundamental component for virtually all parts of life, society, and industries, fulfilling the communication needs of humans as well as intelligent machines,” says Blixell.

He adds, “Naturally, we can’t talk about the ‘next digital universe’ without mentioning the metaverse. The promises of this space are immeasurable, and we are set to play a key role as the 5G/metaverse relationship is indivisible to reach its full potential. 5G and immersive technologies are already fundamentally changing the way we live, work and consume information.”
