GITEX 2021: CrowdStrike to spotlight future-proof security innovations

Roland Daccache, Sales Engineering Manager – MEA, CrowdStrike, shares key highlights at GITEX and discusses why CISOs need to rethink their security strategies

Global cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike is taking part at this year’s GITEX Global, where it will showcase its latest products and innovations, and announce a slew of platform enhancements.

“The main topic of our participation this year is around building zero-trust architecture revolving around identity security, with identity threats being the main vehicle for recent sophisticated attacks and it is a top subject on the CISO’s timetable,” says Roland Daccache, Sales Engineering Manager – MEA, CrowdStrike.

“Additionally, we will focus on securing cloud workloads and containerised environments, as it is a key ask from our enterprise customers shifting their digital environment to the cloud. Finally, we will discuss with our clients their visibility, observability, and log management use cases, and announce our latest acquisitions in that space.”

With organisations increasingly embracing remote and hybrid working models, ensuring security is now more crucial than ever. “With organisations adopting the Work-From-Anywhere model almost indefinitely, the workspace as we know it will never be the same again,” says Daccache.

He adds, “As it turned out during the pandemic, the massive investments made to secure the campus and data centre perimeters such as firewalls, network intrusion systems, were barely useful when employees were working from home and adopting decentralized cloud solutions.

This situation is a clear trigger for CISOs and security leaders to rethink their security budget spending, by prioritising endpoint security and cloud security over traditional network focused security solutions.”

According to Daccache, CrowdStrike is well-equipped to enable enterprises to navigate the security challenges in today’s digital landscape. “CrowdStrike belongs to the breed of futureproof next-generation solutions for years to come. The main reason behind it is that CrowdStrike solutions have been built for the modern enterprise, that is cloud-friendly, adopts a flexible work setup for employees, and embraces digital transformation,” he says.

Over the past year, the global landscape witnessed a relentless wave of ransomware attacks that wreaked havoc on networks of businesses of all sizes, and across all sectors. The industry also saw a record number of vulnerabilities targeting popular software such as Exchange Servers, Azure DB, as well as very sophisticated attacks that targeted supply chain and managed service providers such as the Solarwinds and Kaseya attacks.

This is why, according to Daccache, as we head to 2022 cybersecurity leaders and CISOs’ voices will echo strongly at the board level. “We will witness strong trends within the private and public sector around exceptional budgeting towards bolstering cyber-defences, sharpening the cybersecurity team skills, and revamping the whole cybersecurity strategies.

“We encourage organisations of all sizes to have a conversation with CrowdStrike sooner better than later, so that we can be part of security their forward-leaning digital infrastructure, and tighten the bolts of security around their environment at early stages from the ground up,” he says.
