HPE spotlights high-perfomance computing, AI and sustainability at GITEX Global 2022

The company will showcase its advanced portfolio of HPC and AI solutions, delivered on the edge, on-premises, hybrid, or as a service

Ahmad Alkhallafi, Managing Director, Hewlett Packard Enterprise - UAE

At this year’s GITEX Global, Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s participation will focus on three key pillars: high-performance-computing (HPC) & artificial intelligence (AI), and sustainability.

Ahmad Alkhallafi, Managing Director, Hewlett Packard Enterprise – UAE, spoke to ITP.net about his company’s plans for GITEX Global…

What do you aim to showcase at this year’s GITEX Global?

The HPE GreenLake platform provides customers and partners with a unified experience, control and visibility, and fast and easy access to over 70 cloud services. At GITEX HPE will, among other things, present its latest innovations around the platform. In conversation with our experts, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about how business challenges like security, managing cloud spending, lack of resources or expertise and the amount of waste can be addressed through a single platform and as a service.

Another key feature at our stand is HPC & AI. On the show floor, we will showcase our advanced portfolio of HPC and AI solutions, delivered on the edge, on-premises, hybrid, or as a service.

Furthermore, GITEX visitors will be able to find out all about exascale computing – the problems it solves, the technologies that enable it, and the future exascale systems that are coming. They can get a glimpse of how HPC and AI projects that are tackling challenges like climate change and sustainable energy production, can look like in practice with the real-life example of a self-learning wave energy converter from Carnegie Clean Energy. They will be able to observe how the converter harnesses the power of the ocean by extracting energy from waves.

We will also spotlight how HPE champions sustainability. We developed “Living Progress” as our business strategy for creating sustainable and equitable technology solutions for a data-first world. These efforts are inextricably linked to our corporate strategy and our purpose to advance the way people live and work.

GITEX visitors will have the opportunity to find out more not only about HPE’s efforts in the field but also how HPE GreenLake’s as-a-service model as well as HPE Financial Services (HPEFS) can help customers measure and manage their impact. The services include the refurbishment and recycling of IT assets from over 50 countries, and at 80 locations across the world, as well as the HPE Circular Economy report that shows how those assets were processed. It details the associated environmental savings from those services, which can be used for Scope 3 carbon disclosure reporting.

Everything you need to know about GITEX Global 2022

What does the ‘next digital universe’ mean to you?

The “next digital universe” is inherently linked to a data-driven universe. Not only will the digital universe produce vast amounts of data – it will be driven by it. This touches everything from the most pressing challenges like climate change to industry projects focusing on innovation, development, modelling, and simulations. The answers can be found in massive pools of data.

However, it is not always easy to put data to work. There is a disconnect with executives often not fully confident in their ability – nor in their long-range plans – to wring optimal levels of value out of the data they produce, acquire, manage, and use. At the same time, these massive amounts of data, even more so the expected data growth, come with significant infrastructural challenges, like storage, computing and environmental impact.

How do you aim to support organisations in this journey?

With its strong focus on highly performant and sustainable technology solutions, HPE will be the ideal partner for organisations that want to take the next big step into this new universe. Not only will they be able to get more value out of their data using HPE GreenLake services, AI and machine learning capabilities, but they will also be able to reduce their consumption, by only using what they really need through the as-a-service model.

By focusing on sustainable designs HPE’s engineers and product managers are lowering product power consumption and reducing waste perpetually. They follow a clear design principles guide that embeds energy efficiency, longevity and recyclability as well as materials innovation into HPE’s product development. This in combination with services provided by HPE Financial Services (HPEFS) will help organisations to stay on top of their environmental footprint.
