Riyadh Air and IBM Consulting have already developed the airline’s digital and technology strategy

Riyadh Air and IBM Consulting have joined forces in a partnership aimed at revolutionising travel experiences. Through this strategic agreement, the two companies will work together to create a technology foundation that will enable Riyadh Air to provide seamless travel experiences to its customers.

Riyadh Air revolutionising travel experiences

Under the partnership, Riyadh Air and IBM Consulting have already developed the airline’s digital and technology strategy. Now, Riyadh Air has chosen IBM Consulting to support the implementation and integration of over 50 airline industry solutions and core technology capabilities, including security, infrastructure, integration, and data platforms. A hybrid cloud approach will be adopted to ensure flexibility and scalability.

IBM Consulting will not only oversee the integration process but also orchestrate the work of more than 40 partners. They will provide programme and technical governance, project management, quality assurance, change and communications management, and training, ensuring a cohesive and efficient collaboration.

This collaboration positions Riyadh Air strategically within the broader ecosystem, allowing the airline to offer digital innovations and exceptional experiences to its travellers and guests. Riyadh Air aims to become an airline that provides personalised and seamless guest experiences powered by AI and state-of-the-art digital technology. The focus will be on delivering memorable micro-moments throughout the traveller’s journey, with attention to detail.

Furthermore, the partnership aims to empower Riyadh Air’s employees with data-driven insights and new ways of working, enabling them to better serve the guests. By leveraging technology, Riyadh Air seeks to enhance its services and deliver an exceptional travel experience for both local and international guests.

Adam Boukadida, Chief Financial Officer of Riyadh Air, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that their ambition is to launch the airline’s first flight in 2025 and establish Riyadh Air as a leader in digital technology and innovation within the aviation industry. He emphasised IBM Consulting’s expertise in managing large complex systems and integration programs, as well as their deep knowledge of the travel industry.

As part of the agreement, IBM Consulting will also establish and maintain Riyadh Air’s hybrid cloud integration platform. This platform, powered by IBM CloudPak for Integration and Red Hat OpenShift, will offer seamless integration tools, connecting applications and data within a unified and user-friendly experience.
