In addition to a sanguine opening speech by Oracle SVP for Applications Development, Rick Jewell, the Oracle Cloud SCM Virtual Summit also featured high-level insights from industry pundits such as Stefanie Naujoks, research director, IDC Manufacturing Insights, examined the different industry trends and innovation challenges for the discrete manufacturing industry.

Deloitte Consulting’s senior manager and supply chain expert, Nicole Wilkinson, also discussed how manufacturing companies can successfully embrace the cloud and seamlessly migrate their systems.

Furthermore, other Oracle executives including Jon Chorley, CSO & GVP for SCM Product Strategy and Terri Hiskey, VP for SCM Product Marketing, shared expert insights into how the company’s offerings are transforming industries. Chorley explored the advantages that real-time data and analytics can bring to enable organisations make smarter and sustainable business decisions. Meanwhile, Hisky discussed how advanced technologies such as AI and machine learning can transform manufacturing facilities to become more efficient. “We are now getting smarter about applying technology and intelligence to machines to help us address issues before they become crises. Having a view into your production line helps with efficient forecasting and planning,” she said.

Hear world-class success stories

Oracle Cloud SCM Virtual Summit featured success stories from world-renowned companies including Switzerland-based Alcar, a key player in the automotive aftermarket. Alcar shared their cloud journey and discussed how they embraced Industry 4.0 technology to modernise their manufacturing operations.

The event also saw global processing and packaging company Tetra Pak talk about how they leveraged Oracle’s innovations to automate many of its logistics and supply chain processes. A move that’s not only aimed at improving its business operations but also in achieving its goal to become carbon neutral by 2030.

Finally, Argent Energy, a large scale commercial producer of biodiesel in the UK shared their success in implementing a unified system that allowed them to focus on their vision of reducing the world’s carbon footprint.
