The cloud native services provider and native Amazon Web Services (AWS) consulting partner Zero&One is growing its workforce of certified engineers and cloud architects by 68%.

This is in readiness of an anticipated business uptake spurred by the planned 2022 opening of an AWS infrastructure region, comprising three data centres, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The UAE is currently home to Zero&One’s headquarters with the company also running offices and operations in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.

“The new AWS infrastructure region in the Emirates is already driving interest in digital transformation journeys across a range of organisations, public and private, and of all sizes from SMEs to corporates,” said Ali El Kontar, founder & CEO of Zero&One.

He added that the upcoming AWS Region is going to have a significant impact on increasing the pace of innovation in the UAE.

The company is gearing up to build on the local and regional acceleration of cloud adoption and digital transformation by providing more choice for customers to run applications and store data locally and comply with data residency requirements.

He said, “We will now help customers innovate faster by leveraging the power of the cloud in computing, storage, networking, database, analytics, machine learning, Internet of Things (IoT), mobile services and more.”

The move comes as Zero&One achieves AWS Migration Competency status which recognises the company’s standardised capabilities to help customers successfully migrate to AWS through all phases of complex migration projects, including discovery, planning, migration, and operations.

The designation differentiates Zero&One as an Amazon Partner Network (APN) member that provides specialised, demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success with a specific focus on migration delivery, migration consulting, technology for discovery and planning, technology for workload mobility, and technology for data migration.

“This designation demonstrates our exceptional ability to help customers migrate, optimise, and manage cloud environments on AWS and validates our excellent team, approaches, tools and customer service capabilities which have helped over 50 MENA customers at scale in deploying solutions on AWS,” commented El Kontar.

AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify consulting and technology APN Partners with deep industry experience and expertise.

The Migration Competency designation comes ahead of Zero&One’s imminent appointment as an AWS Premier Tier Partner which will recognise it as among the most experienced AWS Consulting Partners and a leader in its geographical, vertical, or horizontal markets.

The Premier Tier designation will be the third AWS classification achieved by Zero&One within a year.

Last December the company achieved AWS DevOps Competency status which recognised its ability to provide a plethora of DevOps Services to help customers implement continuous integration and delivery practices or help them automate infrastructure provisioning and management with configuration management tools on AWS.
