Oracle CloudWorld 2022: What to expect

Oracle’s annual flagship conference, CloudWorld, is taking place in Las Vegas from 17th to 20th October and ITP.net is on the ground to give you the latest updates and insights from the event

‘CloudWorld’ is the revamped version of Oracle’s industry-renowned ‘OpenWorld’. It is Oracle’s largest gathering for partners, customers, developers and tech enthusiasts. With a new name, the event – which for years was held in San Francisco has also now moved to Las Vegas.

Here are three key things you can expect from Oracle CloudWorld:

High-level keynote sessions

Oracle CloudWorld will open with keynote speeches and presentations from the company’s top executives

The company’s CEO Safra Catz will kick off with a welcome keynote.

Safra Catz, CEO, Oracle

Catz has served as chief executive officer of Oracle Corporation since 2014 and a member of the company’s board of directors since 2001. She previously served as president of Oracle and has also served as the company’s chief financial officer. Prior to being named president, Catz held various other positions since starting at Oracle in 1999.

Catz will spotlight some of the customer success stories and use cases over the past few years during her presentation. She will sit with leaders of global brands and discover how they are solving their most complex problems with Oracle.

Of course, CloudWorld won’t be complete without a presentation from the company’s co-founder and CTO Larry Ellison.

Larry Ellison, co-founder and CTO, Oracle

Ellison is the executive chairman of Oracle Corporation and chief technology officer. He founded the company in 1977 and served as CEO until September 2014.

Ellison’s session will likely focus on several major launches and announcements from the company. He will also shed light on how enterprises can take on some of the most complex problems across entire industries with the right technology and strategy.

A focus on the multi-cloud era

Multi-cloud interoperability has always been a big focus for Oracle. Over the years, the company has established key partnerships with other global hyperscalers such as Microsoft and Amazon Web Services across some of its key solutions.

This is in line with Oracle’s commitment to providing customers with the flexibility to transform in the cloud and empowering them to get the most value out of Oracle innovations.
