du, Samsung to bring UAE customers to the 5G era

As per this agreement, du and Samsung will work together on upgrading 2G network users to 4G/5G networks and positioning du as a one-stop shop for the entire Samsung range of consumer and business smart devices and solutions

du, part of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), Samsung have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand their existing partnership and boost the market for Samsung products via the du retail network. Currently, Samsung is the strategic smart device vendor for du, a collaboration that has greatly benefited du customers by addressing all their device requirements.

The MoU, signed by Karim Benkirane, Chief Commercial Officer of du, and Doohee Lee, President of Samsung Gulf Electronics, will transform du stores into a one-stop-shop for the complete range of Samsung consumer and business smart devices and solutions. Additionally, it will extend Samsung’s exclusive products and offerings to over 40 categories, including smart home solutions, enterprise solutions, accessories, and more.

We are therefore aligned with du in putting the customer experience first. Working together, we can offer our customers more value and a elevated customer experience.”   

Karim Benkirane, du, Chief Commercial Officer, said, “Through our collaboration, we will provide our customers with access to a wider range of products and services, as well as increased customer service options.”

As per the comprehensive agreement, du will elevate Samsung as its Preferred Partner for 2G projects, and Samsung will provide all the necessary support, including stock allocations, sales support, and other requirements, to make du its leading partner in the UAE.

Apart from scaling up sales of Samsung’s smartphone brands, the two companies will also collaborate in expanding their product portfolios, utilising Samsung’s wide range of products. By Q1, du aims to provide customers with the complete Samsung ecosystem experience, including tablets, watches, and portable projectors, in its stores.
