Synology presents hybrid cloud ecosystem for robust data storage architecture

“Access”, “management” and “protection” are the top three challenges faced by many businesses nowadays.

Jennifer Lin, Regional Account Manager at Synology

For organisations, managing digital transformation has always been critical. But, it gained momentum in and after 2020, when many businesses started relying on technology for day-to-day needs. Research suggests that 60% of organisations sped up their investments in digital technology during the pandemic. This shows the reason behind record IT adoption and cloud usage.

With massive adoptions come massive challenges. At a time when organisations are facing challenges around distributed business workloads across physical, virtual and cloud environments, building a robust data storage architecture is crucial. Jennifer Lin, Regional Account Manager at Synology gives insights on this.

“As data has become more distributed across different environments over the years, we at Synology recognised early on that such transformation would require hybrid cloud solutions spanning private and public cloud infrastructure. And for years now, we have worked to integrate our on-premises storage products ever more tightly with public cloud applications,” said Lin.

“Starting with secure off-site backup for Synology systems, we’ve launched cloud-hosted data protection, cross-site file sharing, video surveillance and more solutions that work with our powerful on-premises systems to solve data management challenges,’ she added.

This year at GITEX Global 2022, Synology presented its enterprise-ready solution infrastructure leveraging the hybrid cloud ecosystem, with three zones highlighting their innovations to achieve IT resilience. The company presented its next-generation file server, with Synology Drive empowering the modern hybrid workforce by storing and managing data with delicate permission management, cross-site synchronisation, multi-platform access, and more.

To offer complete protection for businesses’ digital assets, Synology presented Active Backup Suite serves as a centralized platform protecting data in various endpoints, clouds, and VMs against unpredictable events such as cyberattacks and recover efficiently according to their requirements. To further layered up the protection, Hyper Backup support extensive offsite backup destinations including Synology’s public cloud C2 Storage, achieving cross-multi-cloud data protection.

Synology also showcased its smart surveillance solution that is designed to protect businesses’ physical assets with the latest Surveillance Station 9.0 based on supercharged monitoring and simpler deployment options. Along with the highlight of the AI-powered Deep Learning NVR series for advanced on-premises video surveillance and analytics.

Flexible and resilient infrastructure

As technology and data continued to become more important in any operation, it is crucial for the IT infrastructure to stay flexible and resilient. “Access”, “management” and “protection” are the top three challenges faced by many businesses nowadays. The key pillars Synology will focus on offering in the upcoming years, are:

  • The tenacity of “growing-storage”. To fulfil the growing demands of data, Synology will not only help business “scale up” their storage and expand their capacity in a faster way, but also help them “scale out” their storage, by integrating multi-platform resources to fulfil flexibility of growing data.
  • Data security. Ransomware attacks become trickier as cyber criminals continue to evolve. Data security features like security system maintenance, robust backups, and recovery mechanism are the last line of defence for business sustainability.
  • As the scale of an organisation expands, data will most likely be exchange from place to place. Remote access, data syncing, and multi-platform integration are common demands for growing business. Going forward, Synology will continuously integrate single pane-of-glass management into our ecosystem to help business achieve operational simplicity.
