Yellow Pages put on the Internet

EIM and AWE have collaborated to provide an online version of the Etisalat yellow pages.

Emirates Internet and Multimedia (EIM) and AWE (AlWahda Express) have launched an online version of the Etisalat yellow pages to provide easy access to information on the UAE’s business and tourism resources throughout the World Wide Web.

The Etisalat yellow pages, located at www.etisalatyp.com was jointly developed “to promote the UAE to web surfers around the world,” according to Maroua Naim, EIM general manager and businesses in the UAE will be listed on the web directory for free.

“The user-friendly site is designed to provide easy access to UAE businesses and give a general feel of what the country has to offer. The site will provide the largest and most comprehensive UAE business database on the web”, she added.

Powerful Search Engine

“The site will include over 41,000 business listings spread over 2,500 classifications from across the UAE. Its powerful search engine is keyword enabled and the home page features industry-targeted banners to facilitate access to various categories,” said Wayne Foster, chief executive officer AWE. “Users can also get information on local interests, making it a complete one-stop site for businesses and the general public.

EIM is providing the technology and communication infrastructure required to build the site and AWE will run the sales, marketing and help desk services.

Local and foreign companies will have many advertising options to choose from. “Advertising banners placed on the site’s homepage allow businesses to promote their products and services to a global community, and create direct links to their website,” said Naim.

Future additions to the site will include incorporating digitalised maps for advertisers’ locations and video clips of the companies’ ads.
