1-stop shopping over all e-services

Commerce One and SAP have joined forces and plan to offer one-stop shopping across all e-business services.

The next generation of e-business marketplace solutions for the Middle East Internet economy will be unveiled later this year following a preliminary agreement between Commerce One, SAP AG and SAPMarkets.

The proposed agreement, planned for a three year term, aims to offer companies one-stop shopping for the entire range of e-business marketplace services.

“A marketplace suite, which is yet to be named, will provide customers with highly capable, open marketplace technology, e-business applications and delivery capabilities in a single solution,” said David Brown, Business Development Director, Commerce One Middle East.

“It will transfer linear, serial supply chains to parallel, collaborative communities, dramatically reducing cycle times, improving customer relationships and increasing productivity for businesses worldwide.”

Smooth Transition

“Simply put, our customers will enjoy a smooth transition to front office and marketplace e-business solutions for the new economy, enabling immediate participation in the Global Trading Web – the world’s largest business-to-business trading community,” said Brown.

“With procurement software, all companies running supported SAP enterprise software can connect to the new marketplace suite without upgrading their internal systems.”

Commerce One will provide the marketplace infrastructure that enables companies to establish and operate trading portals and SAP will provide functionality in areas of supply chain management, product lifecycle management, customer relationship management and business intelligence.
