IBM launches Content Manager

IBM hopes its new Content Manager will help businesses manage their digital information better.

IBM has unveiled the IBM Content Manager which it hopes will help companies manage their digital information to increase productivity and operational efficiencies and gain competitive advantages.

Content management is the next step in the data management evolution, according to IBM, involving the collection, management and distribution of all forms of business information.

This means that images, audio and video computer generated output can now be securely shared electronically.

Content Manager is the only service of its kind, the company says, providing a single consistent, open programming interface that enables rapid application development.

Unified Search Results

It can also search across a variety of content and data repositories such as production imaging, computer-generated output, document management and multimedia repositories, delivering a single unified search result.

“IBM is at the forefront in helping customers turn information, in any format, into a business advantage. No other vendor in the industry can match IBM’s end-to-end e-business data management capabilities,” boasted Tarek Niazi, software manager IBM Middle East and Pakistan.

“IBM defined the content management market over a decade ago and now we are taking it to the next level by helping customers become e-businesses.”
