Dubai-based Interactive Technologies is pushing the issue of e-security into the public eye following a report by Price Waterhouse Coopers that revealed computer hacking is costing businesses around the world an estimated US $1.6 trillion.
The report also suggested that almost 40,000 people years of productivity will be lost to computer downtime as a result of this alarming trend.
Ziad Tassabehji, Interactive technologies president, is keen to raise awareness about the increasing threat to the Middle East region. “With such cyber-crimes threatening the stability and efficiency of interactive systems worldwide, the previously underestimated subject of e-Security is an issue that must be brought to the attention of users and businesses alike,” he said.
To combat the worrying trend Interactive Technologies’ have announced an elite partnership with Axent, an information security business based in the US. Tassenbehji said this strategic alliance “would help in bringing the security issue to the boardrooms of companies and governments within the Gulf region.
