Reuters has launched the Reuters Arabic Online Report, a comprehensive multimedia news publication for Arabic language publishers around the world.

The Arabic Online Report service consists of six distinct channels: Top Middle-East News, Top World News, Business, Sport, Entertainment and Technology News. The stories, written in Arabic, are delivered as multimedia news packages created for the needs and interests of Middle-East audiences.

The stories, linked pictures and web graphics are provided in a prioritised top-10 format, updated as they happen, and around the clock, by the Reuters Arabic Online Desk based in Cairo.

The product is delivered over the Internet in Extensible Mark-up Language (XML) with text encoded in Unicode. Web publishers can choose to display the content using their own XML style sheets or they can use a simple display template supplied by Reuters.

“This exciting new service enables our Internet clients, anywhere in the world, to provide tailored Arabic content to enhance their sites.” said David Owen, Marketing Director Reuters Media, Europe. “We are continually looking to provide new and innovative Internet services to complement our online product range.”
