Sophos demonstrates a new range of business solutions for small and medium business enterprises at its stand. The solutions are designed for companies with less than 100 employees and with limited IT resources.

“Small companies rarely have a dedicated IT department,” says Andy Griffiths, business development manager, Sophos. “They need to devote time to managing their business, rather than worrying about the latest mass-mailing virus threat or dealing with large quantities of spam.”

The Sophos Small Business Suite comprises the Sophos PureMessage Small Business Edition, which combines virus and spam protection for the email gateway, and Sophos Anti-Virus Small Business Edition, which offers a comprehensive desktop and server defence against the virus threat.

Sophos PureMessage Small Business Edition filters email at the Exchange or SMTP gateway, so neither end-users nor administrators need to deal with unwanted mail. The Sophos Anti-Virus Small Business Edition, meanwhile protects network shares, the internet and wireless networks.

“Small businesses need software which is simple and intuitive, easy to install and maintain, and competitively priced,” says Gary Thomassen, head of product management at Sophos. “We are already well known for protecting large companies. The introduction of dedicated products for small businesses enables us to expand our remit into this sector.”
