SECURITY SOFTWARE distributor Al Adeeb Information Technology (AAIT) is exhibiting at Gitex for the second year running with the aim of wooing security-conscious business users and introducing them to Sophos’ full range of software titles, which it claims are the best on the market.

Following Al Adeeb’s adoption of Sophos’ range of business security apps, AAIT claims it can provide firms of all sizes with a complete, simple-to-configure solution to protecting every system a company owns.

“Sophos’ range comprises a core enterprise anti-virus and anti-spam solution, protecting businesses from more than 95,000 computer viruses, spam and other destructive malware,” explains managing director, Mohammad Al Noraiee.

“Our main emphasis at Gitex will be on targeting visitors who know what they want from their security software and who care enough about the issue to demand they are protected by the very best,” he adds.

Visitors uninitiated in the ways of secure computing won’t be left out, however, as AAIT also plans to use its presence at Gitex to help the non-aware get up to speed with the threat that viruses and spam can pose to their business operations.

“Since Al Adeeb IT and Sophos are new in the Middle East, we are thriving to create more and more awareness through education about the dangers of not having an anti-virus and anti-spam solution,” says Al Noraiee.

Visitors to AAIT’s stand will be able to learn about Sophos’ software packages, which offers anti-virus and anti-spam protection for organisations of any size, from small offices right through to large enterprises.

Designed for use in complex, cross-platform, networked environments, Sophos’ range protects every network tier including laptops, desktops and endpoint servers, uses only small program updates (typically around 5KB) to minimise system slowdown, and includes full telephone support; available 24/7, and at no extra cost.

The anti-virus component of AAIT’s overall security offer is provided by Sophos’ ‘Anti-Virus for Windows’ title, which provides integrated, cross-platform virus detection for even the most complex corporate networks. Sophos’ ‘PureMessage’ release meanwhile is designed to offer a comprehensive secure messaging solution for e-mail gateways, and includes both anti-virus and anti-spam protection and policy control. ‘MailMonitor’ meanwhile protects e-mail servers and gateways against mass-mailing worms and viruses, while smaller firms are catered for by Sophos’ ‘Small Business Suite’ as well as small business versions of its standalone programs.
