Sophos branches out

Enterprise security vendor Sophos has recruited some extra help in spreading its integrated security message at GITEX Technology Week.

Enterprise security vendor Sophos has recruited some extra help in spreading its integrated security message at GITEX Technology Week by signing Secureway as its new distributor for the Middle East.

UK-based Sophos has traditionally relied on SAF Information Systems as its primary distributor in the region, but has recruited Secureway in an effort to extend its footprint in the hotly-contested security software arena. Secureway will initially champion the vendor’s cause in the UAE as well as a number of markets across the Middle East from this month onwards.

“Secureway has a big channel of resellers and is a true security company with value added distribution capabilities,” says Kamel Heus, international business development manager MEA at Sophos. “This is an ideal fit for both companies as Secureway hasn’t had a desktop security solution so this completes its portfolio.”

Secureway will now provide Sophos training and consultancy in addition to customer support. The appointment comes just weeks after Sophos rolled out version 7.0 of its endpoint security and control software. “Our objective this week has been to show our product range and create awareness of the new security solutions we have recently launched,” says Heus.
