Taiwanese ICT companies keen to boost GCC presence

More than 100 Taiwan IT manufacturers are exhibiting at GITEX Technology Week, most exhibiting IT hardware and consumer electronics products, with another 20% manufacturers of telecom and networking products.

More than 100 Taiwan IT manufacturers are exhibiting at GITEX Technology Week, most exhibiting IT hardware and consumer electronics products, with another 20% manufacturers of telecom and networking products.

Major Taiwanese exhibitors include Micro-Star International (MSI) and ASUSTek Computer, Ritek, CMC Magnetics, Power Quotient International (PQI), Posiflex Technology, Thermaltake Tech., AcBel Polytech, Powercom, FSP Tech, Lian Li, AIPTEK, and QNAP Systems.

It is expected that, as in the past, Taiwan suppliers will attract considerable attention from buyers.

Taiwan occupies a key spot in the global computer and telecoms industry. As of January 2008, Taiwanese firms had won more than 80% of all global orders for IT products, placing them in the top position worldwide in those categories.

They include: 93.2% of global notebook computer supply; 98.3% of global motherboard supply; 95.4% of global cable CPE supply; 88.9% of global DSL CPE supply; 76.8% of global LCD monitor supply and 88.4% of global WLAN NIC supply.
