BATELCO, in collaboration with Ericsson, AlNadeem and Net4Things, demonstrated a range of smart solutions at the Batelco stand, as part of the Bahrain Pavilion, at GITEX Technology Week 2016.

The four companies partnered to demo a variety of cloud and sustainability solutions in line with the topic of the event; Re-imagining realities. The range of advanced technologies showcased how life experiences in a smart city are enhanced through more connectivity, with a particular focus on Smart Business, Smart Life and Smart Education, allowing citizens to live and work in more sustainable societies.

The companies also  highlighted Connected Print, Cloud Productivity Solution, Microsoft Office 365, web Hosting & Cloud Security along with smart solutions for homes and hospitals.

Batelco, in line with its commitment to enable the Kingdom of Bahrain’s future vision, has already launched Bahrain WiFi. The nationwide WiFi rollout has begun with a number of hotspots including several high traffic areas around Bahrain.

Batelco has also launched a cutting edge IoT Connected Vehicle Solution to support the requirements of the education and transportation sectors. The new solution delivers a complete transportation security solution and that has been designed and developed to address growing market needs, particularly from the education sector, to support safety issues for school children and university students.

In another key signing on the sidelines of GITEX 2016, Batelco announced a platinum partnership agreement with Sophos, a key IT security and data protection company. Batelco is constantly on the quest to expand its security services portfolio in order to support the increasing security requirements for organisations across all sectors. The signing with Sophos is in line with efforts to provide relevant security for Bahrain’s enterprise sector.

Rounding off a very productive and successful week at GITEX, Batelco was presented with an award in recognition of its outstanding performance as a key partner in Bahrain, by Westcon-Comstor. Batelco has a well-established relationship with Westcon-Comstor enabling the it  to deliver top quality products and services for its business customers.
