Dubai’s Salik warns residents against new SMS scam

UAE residents have reported receiving a text message from an unidentified source asking them to make a payment for their ‘vehicle trip fee’

Dubai toll gate operator Salik has cautioned everyone about the circulation of fake messages, asking UAE residents to make payments.

UAE residents have reported receiving a text message from an unidentified source asking them to make a payment for their ‘vehicle trip fee’. In a post on Twitter, Salik urged residents to exercise caution and refrain from sharing their personal or banking details with untrustworthy sources to prevent fraudulent activities.

The messages related to Salik payments are transmitted from a specific domain, which shows the sender as ‘SALIK’ instead of a phone number.

Customers of Salik can securely make payments using the Smart Salik mobile application.
