Veeam Software, a leader in modern data protection, has introduced a new single platform that offers advanced data security, recovery, and hybrid cloud capabilities.

The platform called Veeam Data Platform features the company’s proprietary Backup & Replication (VBR) v12, provides best-in-class secure backup and reliable recovery, addressing the various challenges faced by organisations, such as outages, errors, and ransomware.

The Veeam Data Platform is available in three enterprise-grade editions that provide protection for cloud, virtual, physical, SaaS, and Kubernetes applications across complex IT environments.

The platform meets the three primary requirements for ensuring business continuity, which are data security, data recovery, and data freedom. The three editions are Foundation, Advanced, and Premium, all of which include VBR and Instant Recovery.

The Advanced and Premium editions offer additional resiliency features, such as monitoring, analytics, and recovery. The Foundation Edition is the most comprehensive, with VBR v12 incorporating more than 500 new features and enhancements. The Advanced Edition, which combines VBR with Veeam ONE (ONE), provides customers with deep, intelligent monitoring and observability. The Premium Edition, which is the ultimate enterprise modern data protection offering, adds Veeam Recovery Orchestrator (VRO) to the other editions. Premium automates the complex data recovery process, providing near-zero Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) while automating testing and ensuring complete data resiliency with one-click recovery. Additionally, Premium edition customers are eligible for the Ransomware Warranty, which covers the cost of data recovery up to $5 million dollars in case of a ransomware or cyber-attack.

“Organisations are more vulnerable than ever. Over the past twelve months, 85 percent of organisations were attacked at least once; up from 76 percent in last year,” said Danny Allan, CTO and Senior Vice President of Product Strategy at Veeam.

“We understand IT leaders feel they aren’t sufficiently protected and as IT environments continue to grow more complex and demanding, it’s now obvious that Modern Data Protection must be integrated into the overall cyber preparedness plan. The Veeam Data Platform brings the best of our solutions together to deliver a single platform with relentless security, reliable data recovery and trusted data freedom, and is designed to give our customers the choice to leverage the right solution that fits their needs and keeps their business running.”

Providing further insight on the launch from a regional perspective, Mohamad Rizk, Regional Director, Middle East & CIS at Veeam noted that the new platform offers unique features that will not only help organisations to backup and recover their data easier and faster, but also make sure that their data is always recoverable and secure no matter what happens.

“The new Veeam Data Platform editions (Foundation, Advanced, and Premium) will help organisations to always have data security, data recovery and data freedom as per their requirements.”
