Qatar: IBM deploys ‘futuristic’ solution to augment digital banking experience

In a bid to revolutionise QNB’s digital banking capabilities through a hybrid cloud approach, IBM introduced a microservices architecture utilising IBM’s Cloud Pak for Integration, deployed on Red Hat OpenShift

QNB Group, in partnership with IBM and Mannai InfoTech, a division of Mannai Trading Company, has successfully delivered a groundbreaking and immersive Digital Banking experience to its customers.

The expertise of IBM Consulting in Business Transformation, coupled with the IBM Garage methodology and innovative technology solutions, played a pivotal role in this remarkable accomplishment.

The primary objective of the project was to provide QNB’s customers with a seamless Digital Banking experience by implementing an futuristic Omni Channel solution. To realise this vision, every layer of the technology stack underwent a complete redesign and modernisation.

In a bid to revolutionise QNB’s digital banking capabilities through a hybrid cloud approach, IBM introduced a microservices architecture utilising IBM’s Cloud Pak for Integration, deployed on Red Hat OpenShift. This platform offers a unified experience that seamlessly connects applications and data across any cloud. The implementation of this architecture has brought about unprecedented simplicity in version maintenance, dynamic scaling, service governance, and service discovery. These advancements from IBM, along with the support of ecosystem partner Mannai InfoTech, have empowered QNB to offer a more sophisticated banking environment, resulting in enhanced efficiency, greater resilience, streamlined operations, and improved productivity, ultimately benefiting the end-user experience.

Furthermore, IBM Consulting’s integration architects guided the installation and configuration of IBM App Connect Enterprise, aiding in the deployment and testing of the infrastructure. Their support has enabled QNB to easily govern their integrations, ensuring the security and integrity of their data, applications, and services.
