ITP.net Security Leadership Awards is right around the corner!
The Awards will celebrate security leaders and innovators who embrace forward-thinking strategies, and whose products, solutions, and initiatives are considered highly impactful in driving progress in the cybersecurity industry and fostering cyber resilience in the face of an increasingly complex threat environment.
This year’s judging panel consists of Bhavani Suresh, CEO of Nbiz Infosol and President of ISACA – UAE Chapter, Dr Alessio Faccia, Professor at the University of Birmingham – Dubai, and Dr Ioannis Karamitsos, Professor at RIT & Certified ethical hacker scheme committee member, EC-Council.
The judges, who are seasoned professionals with distinguished careers, will evaluate written submissions. They will choose the winners from a pool 54 shortlisted companies and individuals in 14 categories.

Bhavani Suresh
Bhavani Suresh has over 26 years of experience in various Information Systems fields. Her expertise encompasses Business Continuity Management, Information Security Management, IT Operations Management, Project Management, and knowledge transfer management, and she is recognised as an expert in Management Systems.
Suresh has overseen and directed more than 1000 projects for government, semi-government, multinationals, and local organizations across the Middle East, Canada, and the UAE Currently, she serves as the CEO of Nbiz Infosol.
In addition to her extensive professional accomplishments, Bhavani is also the first female President of the ISACAUAE Chapter (one of 250 worldwide) and has managed several GCC events for ISACAUAE. She is an ambassador of the International Business Women’s Group and has held board memberships in IDEA and other children’s career development organisations.
Dr Alessio Faccia
Alessio Faccia, an accomplished Assistant Professor and Corporate Trainer, and a qualified auditor and chartered accountant.
His research interests and expertise span a wide range of areas, including business transformation, accounting and finance, and technology and innovation.
After running his own audit and consulting firm, Faccia launched his career with Accenture in 2005, where he became an SAP consultant HR-FI-CO. He has gained international experience working in Italy, UAE, UK, and Malta, and is currently based in Dubai. He has served as an expert and trainer for the Italian Tax Police (Guardia di Finanza), the public sector, multinational companies, and SMEs, and has also acted as a court-appointed technical consultant in White-Collar Crime and Bankruptcy.
He is currently featured by Google Scholar with over 1500 citations in trending technology areas such as blockchain applied in accounting and fraud prevention.
With his unique profile that combines advanced expertise in law, finance, and technology, Faccia is also a member of top professional bodies such as ISACA, ACM, AIEN, and Chartered Auditors and Accountants. Furthermore, he is an assistant professor at The University of Birmingham, which is ranked 82nd in the world.
Dr Ioannis Karamitsos
Dr. Ioannis Karamitsos has over 30 years of industry and research experience, working with European, Middle Eastern, and Chinese companies in both private and public sectors.
He is currently a full-time Assistant Professor in Data Analytics at RIT University and a member of DSOA-Dubai Innovation Advisory Board and DTEC accelerator as a mentor.
Karamitsos has research interest and expertise in telecommunication security systems, cryptography, cybersecurity, AI, machine learning, blockchain, and Smart Cities. He holds several executive certificates from top institutions, including Oxford Said Business School, MIT, and Columbia Business School. Ioannis is an author of numerous journal papers and book chapters, and a member of IEEE since 1997.
He also holds various professional certifications, including CBH, CISCO/CCNA Data Center, CEH v.9, ISO27002, PRINCE2, COBIT 5.0, IBM Certified Infrastructure Cloud Solution and IBM Cloud Computing Architecture, ITIL, TOGAF 9, and Scrum Master.
